Development of an open source design numerical control milling machine, made entirely with local materials and processes. The machine can be manufactured in a workshop with basic tools.

Numerical control milling machine with the capacity to machine parts of 500mm x 500mm x 500mm.

Designed with standard materials and off-the-shelf parts. This way it can be manufactured in a workshop with less sophisticated equipment than the machine. The blueprints and the software are open source design, allowing them to be downloaded from the Internet by anyone at no cost.

The open design concept also allows the people who build the machine to have a say in improving the operation of the machine.

De Lápices A Cohetes was hired to carry out both the design and the manufacture, assembly and start-up of the milling machine.
