The prototype for a short fibre washing machine was designed and manufactured to make use of the material resulting from the processing of fique leaves (short fibre). 

​

This prototype was designed as a scaled test, with the idea of developing a machine of larger proportions that could meet the needs of the plant. With this prototype it is planned to clean and process a portion of the short fibre that results as waste from the main process of defibration of the fique stalk.

​

The project consisted of a complete process of research, design and development, manufacturing, testing and implementation.
